It’s inevitable – times WILL get tough. You will feel like you’re in the dumps and as though the world is against you. The question is…what will you do when the walls feel like they’re caving in on you?
I have a suggestion! Take a pause and get re-centered on what really matters.
When the going gets tough for me, I’m reminded of these 3 tips for finding my happy place.
#1: Meditate or pray daily. Whichever of these you prefer, but the point is to find quiet time each day to get centered and focused. Find your place of peace and serenity.
#2: Revisit why you do what you do. What are you passionate about? What makes you tick? What makes you excited? What brings you joy? This is what you need to stay focused on – the things that make you happy. And if you’re doing things that make you unhappy, well, it’s simple. Stop.
#3: Focus on all of the positive things in your life. It’s easy to focus on the negative, but put things in perspective by reflecting on all of the wonderful things around you. It may be your health, a supportive spouse, well-behaved kids, great friends or something as simple as listening to the birds singing this spring and watching the flowers in bloom. When’s the last time you watched the sun rise? What a beautiful sight it is to see!
Times do get tough. Nobody is immune. But there are ways to manage the challenging times in your life and pull yourself out of that slump. You now are armed with 3 tips for managing when the going gets tough. It’s up to you to put them into practice!
What would you add to this list? We’d love to hear how you find your happy place when the going gets tough. Feel free to share!
